Please note that most issues are often fixed with a simple page refresh. You can click your browser refresh icon or alternatively use the shortcut (for Apple cmd + r or for Windows ctrl + r). Please note that Learners are referred to as Players on the platform and documentation.
A Player cannot join the case?
Player management is mostly done on the Harvard Business Publishing website, and Players access it similarly to how you the Educator accesses it. They DO NOT create an account directly on the LiveCase platform. The steps are as follows:
- The authenticate on the Harvard Business Publishing website
- Navigate to the correct course pack
- Click “Run simulation” on your course pack for the LiveCase case
- The Player should be automatically authenticated to the platform and redirected to the case
If any issues arise during the above steps, please contact LiveCase or Harvard Business Publishing immediately for support.
How do I remove a Player?
To remove a player from LiveCase, go to the “Manage” page and find the player in the list then click the “Trash” icon. If you want to remove them from your course completely, please refer to the Harvard Business Publishing website procedure.
A player made an error, how can I change it?
LiveCase has a personalized learning journey that changes when users make decisions and answer questions. Therefore, changing answers to questions is not possible. However, you do have the option of resetting a player (we only recommend this if they are at the beginning stage of the case).
To do this, please follow the below steps:
- Go to the “Manage” page
- Find the Player and click the “Trash” icon
- Confirm you want to remove the Player (this will remove any and all progress on the series)
- Then simply have the Player go to the Harvard Business Publishing website and click “Run simulation” to access the simulation again.
I am not seeing all the Players on the platform
If you are logged in as an Educator and you cannot see all the Players on the LiveCase web application, the following are possible explanations:
- They have not clicked “Run simulation” on the Harvard Business Publishing website. As long as they haven’t clicked that button, they will not show up on the “Manage” page or Leaderboards
- Content hasn’t refreshed. In which case, a simple page refresh in your web browser will sort out the issue
- The Player can’t access the content. Please view the “A Player cannot join the case?” question above
A Player cannot remember their password or can’t authenticate?
All authentication (login, sign in, signup, create an account) is managed from the Harvard Business Publishing website. It is standard procedure: email and password-protected authentication with a “Forgotten Password” option to reset the password. There is NO authentication done by the Player on the LiveCase platform.
How do I view all the answers from the Players?
To view all the answers of the Players on the LiveCase platform, follow these steps:
- Go to the “Questions” page
- Search/Find the question you are looking for
- Click anywhere on the question
- A popup will appear and load the answers of all the participants
- You can also download all the answers to CSV for any desired manipulation or review
I don’t remember the content, how can I see it again?
You can review the content of the case by going to the “Content” Page as an Educator:
